Basic Road will experience closures thru Mar 27th. Should the closures impact access to the Post parking lot, we will open an entrance off Lake Mead Pkwy.

Community Outreach

COLLECTION FOR C.T. SEWELL ELEMENTARY - As part of our Post’s current community outreach efforts, we have kicked another drive for the school. They need printer/copy paper to get them through the end of the school year. No loose paper please - only reams or boxes. You can drop off paper in the Post Hall thru the end of April. Thank you for your support!

BINGO Nights!!!

Please join us on the second Wednesday of each month for Bingo Nights. Only $5 per card, 4 card LIMIT. Start time is 6 pm and sessions last no more than 90 min. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to get your card, order a drink, and choose your seat.

WELCOME TO BASIC POST 3848

Veterans Serving Veterans Since 1937

Post meetings are the 4th Wednesday of each month at 6pm in the Hall. 

(November and December meetings will be on the 3rd Wednesday)
 We will now be serving meals on our meeting nights, 4-6 pm.  Please join us if you can.

As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks.  Our common bond is our sacrifice, whether it was service in Vietnam, the Persian Gulf, Korea, Kosovo, the Global War on Terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR YOUTH ESSAY WINNERS!!
Our Commander presented the winners with a certificate, personalized tumbler, and cash prize from the Post.
Rachael from Lyle Burkholder Middle School was the winner of the Patriot’s Pen essay submissions.
Jonah from Coronado High School was the winner of the Voice of Democracy oral essay submissions. Jonah is now representing the State of Nevada at the National level competition. Click HERE to hear the audio recording of his essay.

We collected nearly 500 items valued at over $6,500.
The items were dropped off mid-December 2025.
