Subscription dues are just like a magazine subscription. It gives you 365 days of membership in the VFW. With this being the first year that they are coming into effect it will be a process that we are not use to. The basic breakdown of what is going to happen is:

If you are an annual member and you pay your dues before Jan your expiration will be Jan 2015. If you pay after that date whatever day your dues are processed at National will be the new expiration date. Example would be that you send in your dues to National on 1 Feb 2015 and National processed them on the 15 Feb. Your new expiration date would be 15 Feb 2016.

Annual Dues at Basic Post 3848 is $40, Life Memberships are adjusted according to age.
Commander and Membership Chairman must approve a DD214 for each new applicant.  Eligibility is set in the National By-Laws.

Annual membership Dues $40 and due on the anniversary of the date you joined the VFW or the date of annual renewal.

Our Post Service Officer is Marty Barrett.  Marty is at the post every Tuesday from 9am until 5pm to assist veterans with their claims.  Please remember to bring everything that can make your case valid.  (Any records you have, DD214, Medical etc.) Post normally opens the canteen at 2:30pm so you will have to ring the doorbell to be admitted as the door will be locked.

NO appointments, first come first serve basis.  You do not have to be a VFW member to get assistance in filing your claim.  Our Service Officers assist all veterans with valid claims just as we have since 1937.
